Meet Sarah

 Personal Background

My enthusiasm for Interior Design springs from my passion and  training  in  creative expression.  As a painter, I love working with color and form.  As a collector, I have gathered textiles, woven and embroidered, antique and contemporary, from around the world.  I've  explored global sources for furniture and accessories because I admire the products of tradespeople who are sharing and maintaining traditions.  I am eager to promote ethnic and cultural awareness.  And I also feel strongly that we have a duty to consume resources on this earth in responsible ways — recycling and re-using whenever possible.

Professional Experience

I received a Certificate in the Decorative Arts from the New England School of Art and Design in Boston in 2002,  and am an allied member of the ASID (American Society of Interior Designers).    I  also received certification from the IRN (Interior Redecorators Network) after training in New York with Lauri Ward, originator of the “Use-What-You-Have” concept.

After  an internship at the Boston Design Center, I decided to start my own business in 2003 and focus on providing creative and practical solutions to interior room decorating and design.  After experiences in the "high-end" luxury design market,  I wanted to offer an alternative model.  My fees are based on an hourly rate and I do not make purchases and charge mark-ups.

I am also very proud to have received the  "Angie's List  Super Service Award" in Interior Design and Decorating  for 2006, 2007, 2008 ,2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 (!) in the local Boston area.   You can read reports  on the  Client Testimonial  link  and go to for more information.
